Nyjer (also called thistle) is a tiny black seed that goldfinches absolutely go crazy for. It requires a specialized feeder with small ports, but if you want to attract American Goldfinches and Pine Siskins, this is the way to do it.
Why We Love It
Nothing attracts goldfinches like nyjer. We have a dedicated nyjer tube feeder and it's always busy with bright yellow goldfinches, especially in spring and summer.
